How to estimate the value of scientific research?

The article analyses the adequacy of use of quantitative bibliometric indicators in assessing quality and impact of research papers in scientific communication. It is concluded that the evaluation of scientific research requires more complex and more sophisticated analysis than merely quantifying the publishing dynamics and citations.
